Ο Gerard Blondeaux, περισσότερο γνωστός με το ψευδώνυμο Gebe, ξεκίνησε ως εικονογράφος σε πολλούς εκδότες προτού γίνει ένας από τους βασικότερους συνεργάτες του οίκου Square. Εργάστηκε στα περιοδικά του Square, Hara-Kiri, Hara-Kiri Hebdo και Charlie Hebdo, και επίσης ως αρχισυντάκτης του Hara-Kiri από το 1969 έως και το 1985. Georges Blondeau, also known as Gebe, debuted as an illustrator in several publications before he became one of the most loyal collaborators of the publishing house Square. He worked for Square's magazines Hara-Kiri, Hara-Kiri Hebdo and Charlie Hebdo and worked as chief editor of Hara-Kiri from 1969 to 1985. For these magazines he created various photo-novels, short stories and the character Berck. Much of this work has been published in albums by Dargaud: 'Il est Fou', 'Il est trop Intellectuel' and 'Qu'est-ce que je Fous la'. Also, Gebe created several scenarios, short stories and the comic 'L'An 01' for Pilote starting in 1966. A live-action motion picture adaptation of 'L'An 01' appeared in 1973. During the 1980s, his work appeared in alternative magazines like Psikopat, Charlie Mensuel and Zero. This multi-talented artist has proven to be successful in other fields then comics: Gebe has written various radio plays, songs (like 'Casse-Tete', performed by Yves Montand) and novels. The great french creator Gebe (Gerard Blondeaux) passed away on April 5, 2004. He was born on July 9, 1929.

Il grande autore francese Gebe (Gerard Blondeaux) e morto il 5 aprile 2004 all'eta di 74 anni per un tumore. Era nato il 9 luglio 1929 a Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne). Lavorava come disegnatore industriale per la SNCF e faceva vignette per il giornale delle ferrovie. Rapidamente passo ad altre riviste. Nel 1960 entra nella mitica redazione del giornale umoristico Hara Kiri, poi lavora per Pilote e per Charlie Hebdo (del quale sara redattore capo dal 1970 al 1985). Oltre ai fumetti scriveva anche per il teatro, la televisione, la narrativa e la musica. Aveva uno stile surreale e poetico. In Italia venne conosciuto tramite il mensile Linus.
